SoBe Wine and Food Festival Demonstrates Miami’s Vibrant & Tasty Multiculturalism

 #SOBEWFF2015 Demonstrates Miami’s Vibrant & Tasty Multiculturalism

sgg website post

As most of the country will be enduring another weekend of icy conditions and impending snow storms, we’re bracing for a sun-filled foodie friendly weekend. February 19-22, Miami is welcoming the 14th Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival presented by FOOD & WINE. SOBEWFF is leading this year’s food-festival season with its most ambitious schedule yet. The lineup offers dozens of choices to celebrate extraordinary culinary and cultural options. But while many of the signature events like Burger Bash and Best of the Best

sold out, there are still a few good events with tickets still available.

For example, Friday’s Nashville on Fire brings Nashville to Miami for the night with an evening of south eats with some of the city’s top chefs at the Mandarin Oriental. Fun and Fit as a Family on Saturday & Sunday brings in celebrity chefs Duff Goldman, Robert Irvine, Ingrid Hoffman, even Rev. Run to teach your loved ones how to prepare healthier meals! This is the perfect family option. Sunday’s Whole Foods Market Grand Tasting Village presents the full spectrum of South Florida food and drink. This year’s new layout features participating restaurants grouped together in culinary quadrants from South Miami and Coral Gables to Brickell, Wynwood, and Miami Beach. Enjoy the multicultural spread throughout Miami Beach this weekend!

Valentine’s Weekend Events – Art Wynwood

I’d like to highlight a special event taking place this weekend – Art Wynwood.  Art Wynwood 2015 features 70 international galleries presenting emerging contemporary and modern works. The happening shines a spotlight on Midtown Miami and the Wynwood Arts District as an international cultural destination which flourishes yearlong. The fair seeks to distinguish the Wynwood Arts District as Miami’s epicenter where art, fashion, design and the culinary arts intersect. A unique feature is the highlight of street art, murals, pop surrealism and other genres from the contemporary underground movement. I attended the Opening Night VIP Private Preview and can’t recommend this edgy and fresh Art Fair enough. Reach out for more information on the Miami luxury lifestyle.

News Flash! South Beach Trophy for $19.9M

Temple House website post

The Susan Gale Group is proud to present THE TEMPLE HOUSE.

Check out The Real Deal’s article announcing our new listing:

The Temple House — a former synagogue that is now considered the largest single-family home in South Beach — is on the market again. Susan Gale of ONE Sotheby’s International Realty has the listing for $19.9 million.

The 13,111-square-foot space at 1415 Euclid Avenue has been the site of a One Direction video, a Kardashian party and events held by Jennifer Lopez, JayZ and other celebrities. It has also held corporate events for NetJets, Absolute Vodka, Microsoft and Colgate, according to its website.

“It’s an iconic property,” Gale, who specializes in “unique, trophy” offerings, told The Real Deal. “What is different about this property is it serves many purposes. It is the largest single-family residence in South Beach, if someone wants it as a private urban residence. It also has a bed-and breakfast license. And it is a world-class, licensed event space.”

The two-story, landmark Art Deco property on a double corner lot was designed as a temple in 1935 by architect L. Murray Dixon, whose other projects include high-profile South Beach hotels such as The Tides, Victor, Raleigh, Marlin, Tudor and Ritz Plaza.

The Temple House’s current owner is Daniel Davidson, who bought the property in March 2003 for $1.125 million, according to Miami-Dade property records. The home has been on and off the market over the years, Gale said.

Its features include a soundproof, 6,000-square-foot great room with 25-foot-high ceilings and mezzanine, a 2,500-square-foot private catering space and a 2,900-square-foot sundeck with pool and waterfall.  The five-bedroom, five-and-a-half bathroom mansion also has an elevator and two-car garage.

Art Basel – Miami Beach 2014

art basel

For the 12th year in a row, Art Basel will descend upon us from December 3rd through the 7th, turning Miami Beach and its surrounding areas into the art world’s playground.  Our communities will be transformed into galleries, offering tourists and locals an experience like no other.  Tens of thousands of visitors and residents will marvel at contemporary art, eat at “pop-up” restaurants, and will be treated to the best of Miami – world-class offerings in a world-class city.

I am excited to share the Art Basel experience with you.  Here’s a taste of what you can expect during these five exhilarating days:

Events

What makes Art Basel special here, is that everywhere you go, a new experience awaits you.  You will gaze at the creations of your favorite artists, while meeting new, up-and-coming local artists.   The main fair at the Miami Beach Convention Center is by far the largest exhibition, and smaller events will take place all around Miami, from Downtown to Wynwood and the Design District.

Food

Good food is part of the Miami culture, and Art Basel is taking that experience to the next level.  In addition to fashionable restaurants and delicious dives, other food options will literally “pop-up”. Pop-up restaurants are common during Art Basel.  This is something you don’t want to miss, because once the fair is gone, so are these cool eateries.  Click on the following link for more information on a pop-up created by Miami native, Michelle Bernstein:

Where to Stay?

As major tourism capitals of the world, Miami and Miami Beach effortlessly cater to every personality, offering a wide variety of accommodations – from small and intimate, to grand and luxurious.  Choosing the perfect place to stay, especially during such a large event can be stressful, so I found the perfect site that showcases some of my favorite hotels:

Susan Gale | July Newsletter

Susan Gale Success with ONE Sotheby’s International Realty.

Summer may be a traditionally slow season in Miami Beach but this year has been the exception to that rule. The construction boom in the South Beach hospitality sector is strong and the Susan Gale Group has been instrumental in selling several major properties. One of which is blossoming into a hip destination in the heart of the Miami Beach cultural district. I’m excited to share one such example in this month’s newsletter. Here’s to a great July full of commercial real estate success!

This month in Miami Beach Trends: North Bay Road and Pine Tree Drive are home to historical waterfront estates, some of which were originally built in the 1920s. Prices along these streets are consistent with the most exclusive areas in Miami Beach, at almost $1000 per square foot in 2013.

YACHTING TIPS

My hospitality real estate client who bought the Vintro Hotel property from me is an avid yachtsman. He even has a dedicated ship for Hotel guests hoping to experience a signature South Florida hobby. I am happy to offer some yachting tips from Enrique himself!

SOUTH BEACH VINTRO HOTEL & KITCHEN

Rumor has it that the hippest boutique hotel in Miami Beach is launching this month. I’ve got exclusive details on this buzz-worthy, South Beach Vintro Hotel & Kitchen as the agent who sold it to the current hotelier visionary. Located at 2216 Park Avenue, the 50-room luxury hotel was transformed from its once dilapidated state and has been included as a member of the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels. The mixture of South Beach art deco and vintage rustic elements invites light into the airy space and creates an instantly tranquil feel. Vintro Kitchen will offer shared plates and global wine list in an intimate setting. Other features include a rooftop plunge pool, beach access with shuttle and concierge service providing yachting experiences. With a track record of hospitality sales success in the cultural center of Miami Beach, I am proud to introduce clients to this urban oasis nestled against the Collins Canal. Contact me for more information on my upcoming Miami Beach hospitality projects which are poised to shape and enhance the vibrant community.

Susan Gale | June Newsletter

A new study by CBRE Group & Maastrict University ranked Miami 9th in the nation for green commercial real estate. 19.4 percent of new towers and development projects have been green certified. This correlates to 79 buildings and 21 million square feet of office space with either U.S. Green Building Council LEED certification or Energy Star labels. Public policy & client demand for sustainable building materials and practices have led this surge, which adds eco-chic to the growing list of attributes attracting foreign and local investors! Contact me about my commercial real estate listings in South Florida.

This month in Miami Beach Trends: Waterfront properties are home to several local and international celebrities who are lured by beautiful views and water access. Prices for these homes are at the highest level in 5 years. Non-waterfront are just as marketable with the strength of Miami’s luxury real estate market continuing to grow.

eMerge As a Tech Leader in South Florida
with ONE Sotheby
s International Realty

As the tech industry wave surges towards the Miami Beach, Silicon Beach is developing as a major tech hub driving people, companies, and dollars to our city limits. Founders from more established digital cities like NYC see that the infrastructure is in place to support further momentum and are flocking to Miami’s luxury real estate market. In celebration of this momentum, my firm ONE SIR sponsored the VIP Lounge at eMerge Americas Techweek as the Exclusive Real Estate Sponsor. eMerge brought together entrepreneurs and tech tycoons for a week-long conference on all things tech in the first week of May. The Susan Gale Group looks forward to seeing Miami’s place as a major tech hub solidified. We are available to guide real estate decisions commercially and privately as we merge tech and real estate industries.

While the Miami-Dade residential market continues to stabilize, this quarters average sale prices have significantly increased when compared to the same period last year. Our quarterly market highlight is the number of transactions over $500K: a total of 1,146 transactions for a steady increase from the 25 closed during the first quarter of 2010 a 4,484% increase in four years.

STAY MOBILE

As someone who travels frequently to visit a global network of friends and clients, I maintain cultural ties to many cities. One of my favorite art stops is MoMA in New York City. As a member, I can share news about exclusive exhibitions and connect you with the artists who visually shape our world views. Join me in enjoying The Abandonment of Art series from Brazilian artist Lygia Clark.

STAY LOCAL

If youre taking a break from jetsetting this weekend, check out the amazing concerts from Miami Beachs New World Symphony which take place in an unorthodox location. Their front lawn! Throughout the year, they bring the residents of Miami together for a Wallcast of their breathtaking performances. Bring your own picnic and enjoy the open air sounds!

GET YOUR BILLIONAIRE BUNKER

Trending in the luxury real estate industry is a focus on high tech, elaborate security measures. According to a recent article from HGTV¹s FrontDoor, architects are catering to real estate investors who expect an extraordinary level of protection when designing high end buildings. One of the towers written about in this piece is a ONE Sothebys exclusive development in downtown Miami. One Thousand Museum is approaching 100% sold status by offering this billionaire bunker experience. This seems appropriate in a building that was recently declared the only US development outside of New York among the worlds top 10 billionaire skyscrapers. One Thousand Museum architect Zaha Hadid hired experts to develop an advanced security plan for her building, which includes a rooftop helipad for private helicopters, facilitating emergency rescues. Penthouses will also contain secret passages with safe rooms. Reach out to learn more about this development.
